VANESA SIGFRID MRINA
Electrical Engineer | Sales Engineer | Innovator | STEM Advocate
Vanesa Sigfrid Mrina is a 2026 Electrical Engineering graduate from the University of Dar es Salaam and currently a Sales Engineer at EMP International, combining technical engineering expertise with customer-focused solution development.
Her experience spans industrial power systems, control and embedded systems, electrical maintenance, instrumentation, and engineering solutions, gained through practical exposure at Geita Gold Mining Ltd (AngloGold Ashanti), TEMESA, and Elsewedy Electric Tanzania.
A passionate innovator, Vanesa designed and built GreenRide, an intelligent steering and stability-assistance system integrating sensors, an ESP32 controller and automated safety control. She also co-created STUD, a digital campus platform that processed 2,000+ timetable sessions across 180+ venues, showcased at CoET Research & Innovation Week 2026.
Her technical excellence was recognised through a formal “very good and acceptable within GGM standards” commendation during her field training at Geita Gold Mining.
Beyond engineering, Vanesa is a passionate STEM advocate and content creator, using her platform to promote the visibility of women in engineering and inspire more young women to pursue STEM careers.
