ENG. LIGHTNESS E. MREMA, BEng (Civil En)

Eng. Lightness E. Mrema is a Civil Engineer serving as a Registration Officer at the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) of Tanzania, where she contributes to the regulation and professional development of the engineering profession. Her work includes evaluation and scrutiny of registration applications, supporting professional interviews and Board inspections, maintaining professional registers, and providing technical guidance on registration and compliance requirements.

She has experience in road and building construction, structural design, construction supervision, materials testing, quality control, and project monitoring, gained through her work with ERB, TARURA, TANROADS, and Mbeya Consultancy Bureau. Her technical competencies include structural analysis and design, engineering drawings and reports, Bills of Quantities and cost estimation, road construction supervision, and quality assurance.

Eng. Mrema holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Mbeya University of Science and Technology (MUST) and is a Registered Graduate Engineer with ERB (GE563500) and a Graduate Member of the Institution of Engineers Tanzania (IET).

She is passionate about sustainable infrastructure, innovation, professional development, and youth empowerment. She is an active member of the IET Young Engineers Forum and FAEO Young Engineers Forum, contributing to mentorship, knowledge sharing, leadership development, and the professional growth of young engineers.
