Eng. Happyness Paul is a Registered Professional Engineer with 10+ years’ experience in structural, bridge, hydrological and geotechnical engineering, combining technical practice, academia, leadership and mentorship. She holds an MSc in Structural Engineering from UDSM, BSc in Civil Engineering and Diploma in Civil Engineering from DIT.

She leads structural design, project delivery, construction supervision, operations and graduate mentorship at EIKON East Africa. At UDSM, she teaches, supervises student projects, contributes to consultancy and serves as Final Year Project Coordinator since 2022.

Previously, she spent nearly six years at Advanced Engineering Solutions, progressing from Structural Engineer to Head of Hydraulics & Structures and QA/QC Manager, with responsibilities in technical design, quality management, tendering, proposals and staff training.

Her landmark projects include the 320 m twin-cell extradosed bridge bypassing Mtera Dam, where she undertook cable force determination, tendon prestressing design and construction methodology. Her portfolio also includes Ngapa Bridge (144 m), Godegode Bridge (154 m), Kalambo Bridge (80 m), Sanza Bridge (75 m), Loya River Bridge (50 m) and multiple bridges along major TANROADS corridors, alongside nationwide building and warehouse projects.

Her expertise covers structural & bridge design, prestressed/extradosed bridges, hydrology & hydraulics, geotechnical engineering, foundations, slope stability, construction supervision, tender documentation, BOQs, cost estimation and QA/QC.

Her research focuses on finite element modelling of bridges, culverts, foundations, buried structures and soil–structure interaction.
